Moving in 2010

Hello. There is a possibility I'll be moving from the US to Shenyang in 2010. I've started doing research and reading. I'm open to advice. Best place to live as an expat? Cost of living? Expat community? Specifically, I would like to bring pets with me. I am curious if any of you have gone through that recently and what your recommendations would be. Thanks for the help.

you need find a living place near your work place,or your will get headache when you catch in a traffic jam;
your cost of living really depends on which kind of lving place you are looking for;
your pets should be ok, however, your need find a landlord who allows you live in his property with your pets;
you can upload a list of your living requirement and what you like to do (for example: gymnasium, taxi price etc), i will let you know

also if you uselocal friends to find you an apartment compared to a housing company you will see a big difference.
Soon as they know your a foreigner the cost goes up fast. Normally the local housing companies get a big bite of that.
My wife use to be in realestate here. We found many places on our own for better prices when i was there looking around. Also if she goes alone we get a much lower price quoted that if i am with her. You can find many place nice and a good price. But often will do beter staying AWAY from where most expats live. They are the equivalent of tourist traps for renters. Suckers are welcome. Why pay double just to live next to other expats when you can get equal aminities and quality for much less using local friends THAT ARE NOT getting a kick back

You need check the rental through internet, also, you need talk to a real estate agency which provide diglossia service for expat, before your ask someone give you a hand.
