Does anybody live in or know about Houjie?

Hi everyone
I'm relocating to Houjie, which is supposed to be very close to Dongguan. I have never been there yet and wonder whether there are anybody who actually lives there or know about it.
I am originally from Beijing, my husband is Swedish and he's got a job in Houjie. I speak mandarin obviously and fluent English. I've always worked with international comanies in Beijing and never got problem finding a job here, however I've got no idea whether I could find something I would be happy with in Houjie or Dongguan.
Beijing is a very safe city and I never had any problem walking outside at night, I heard it wouldn't be a good idea to do that in the south. Is it that dangerous?
Anyway I would welcome any input on the area, in terms of living, work, friends,etc.
