Forget the hustle and bustle of an urban Beijing Day
Relax, unwind and have some fun the FC Club way.
Jinhaihu Lake is located in Pinggu County, 85km Beijing City Centre and is the 3rd largest reservoir in Beijing.
The lake is enclosed on 3 sides by Dajin Mountain range forming a magnificent picturesque view. This time of year is considered to be the optimum since diverse red and brown hues and shades of red and brown can be seen as the trees shed their summer clothing and prepare for the coming winter.
Beijing’s Pinggu County is awash with deciduous fruit orchards. It is a place to visit both in the Spring to enjoy the ocean of peach blossoms and now, in the Autumn, for the golden persimmon fruit. No mechanical fruit pickers here nor trained monkeys but a special dexterity is needed to pick the fruit from the treetops. We will be invited to try our luck with a specially designed long stick with a tiny reaphook on top, and supplied with bags to catch the falling persimmons. Not only is this fun but is reputed to be a helpful for the treatment of cervical spondylopathy.
Timetable:
8:00: Meet at the Hilton;
10:00: arrive at Jinhaihu Lake;
10:15~12:45: A short mountain walk (optional extra Boating) 13:00~14:00:Lunch – fresh reservoir bred fish
14:30~16:00: Persimmon picking in groups;
16:00:Depart for the Hilton
This FC Club event has been organised by our partner (and friend) West China Tours. Special arrangements have been made to ensure that a great time will be had by all.
We anticipate arriving back in Beijing by7:00pm.
Advance registration is essential since space is limited.
